New Years Eve wedding Bassmead Manor – Sam & Andy
New Years Eve wedding Bassmead Manor – by Jinjabird. What a fantastic way to finish off an amazing year. I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph Sam and Andy’s wedding that took place on New Year’s Eve at Bassmead Manor Barns in Cambridgeshire. Sam had booked me almost a year earlier but we had never met. When I arrived the girls were already in the boudoir making a fuss of Sam’s young daughter. Meanwhile Andy and his best man were in the nearby cottage getting ready with Andy’s grandparents. Slowly as the morning progressed things inside the venue started to be finished off until everything looked stunning and ready for the party to begin. The guests all arrived by coach and soon filled the bar waiting for the call to go over to the Rickety Barn for the ceremony. Sam was ready early which meant that I had a few minutes with her to take some pictures. I am so glad I had this opportunity because she looked fabulous. Once all the guests were seated the bridal party made their way over to the Rickety Barn where Andy was waiting anxiously with his best man. It was very exiting watching Sam come down the aisle and the expressions on Andy’s face change as she got closer. During the ceremony one of Sam’s friends did a reading during which she was overcome by emotion and had to pause before carrying on. As soon as the ceremony had finished it was time for confetti and then drinks and canapes. The New Barn looked better than I had ever seen it with a huge net of balloons in the rafters ready for midnight. During the meal a caricaturist was at work and an acoustic set from Dirty Weekend provided the background music. Then afterward more guests arrived to help party the evening away and finish off the celebrations.
