Weddings Bassmead Manor Barns – by Jinjabird. Emma and Shaun got married on Saturday at Bassmead Manor Barns in Cambridgeshire. The day started with rain but was forecast to brighten up for the evening. Emma spent the morning getting ready in the bridal boudoir whilst Shaun was in the nearby Dove Cottage. Emma made a lovely bride and looked beautiful in her dress and veil. The rain was still pouring down as she made her way outside to go to the Old Barn for the wedding ceremony, it was time to get out the umbrellas. During the ceremony both Emma and Shaun’s mothers gave readings and by the time the ceremony was over the rain had stopped and everyone was able to envoy drinks and canopy’s in the garden. The table decorations for the wedding breakfast in the New Barn had a Sherwood Forest / Friar Tuck theme. With some lovely looking painted leaves spread around the tables and the wedding cake, which was also covered in Ivy leaves. Very simple but effective. Due to the weather earlier in the day we were unable to spend much time outside but after the wedding breakfast the rain had stopped and the sun was just setting. Emma and Shaun decided to spend a few minutes on the drive and around the front of the venue for some photos before the cake cutting. Then it was back inside for the start of the evening party.
