Weddings Bassmead Manor Cambridgeshire – Laura & James
Weddings Bassmead Manor Cambridgeshire – by Jinjabird. Laura and James got married at Bassmead Manor Barns in Cambridgeshire on Monday. They both decided to get ready on site and spent time taking it in turns to leave their rooms so as not to see each other before the ceremony. As Laura and her bridesmaids were putting on the finishing touches the guests had already started to arrive and enter the Rickety Barn in anticipation of the wedding ceremony. This is a very exciting part of the day with nerves running high especially for the Groom. Watching the expressions on peoples faces during the ceremony is one of the more special times of the day for me.The weather forecast was for fine weather but unfortunately just as everyone was leaving the Rickety Barn after the ceremony the heavens opened. The staff at Bassmead are well practiced dealing with the changeable English weather and as always they were on hand with umbrellas ready to help. The rain did not last for long however and everybody was soon enjoying drinks in the garden whilst Laura and James spent a few minutes taking in the pretty autumn colours. Laura had told me that they were both looking forward to seeing all the trees changing colour especially after visiting the venue the previous October and seeing how pretty everything was. After the meal and cake cutting Laura did a bouquet toss that went down well with the single ladies. I very rarely see a bride throw the bouquet anymore. Then it was time for the dancing and party. The music from Strobo Disco was great as always and at the end of the evening there were sparklers in the garden. Finally we spent a few minutes making some night time photos outside the venue.
