Wedding photographer Swiss Garden by Jinjabird. On Thursday I photographed the wedding of Julia and Matthew at the Swiss Garden in Bedfordshire. The gardens are part of the Shuttleworth collection and were designed by a wealthy eccentric. He obviously had far too much money because he decided to build an alpine landscape in the heart of Bedfordshire. However despite this lunacy the gardens do make a stunning location to hold a wedding ceremony. And then afterwards to to have fun wandering around the maze of paths and follies that adorn the area. In the centre of the garden is The Swiss Cottage. This was the perfect setting for Julia and Matthew’s intimate wedding ceremony. With only a small number of family and friends present it felt very special. It was amazing to see a Peacock appear and display his feathers right on cue as Julia and Matthew came out of the ceremony. And then whilst we were waiting for the rain to stop (this is the UK what do you expect!) we went into the grotto for a few photographs. I thought that Julia looked beautiful and that both Matthew and her were very natural and easy to photograph. They had planned their day to allow enough time to explore the grounds and enjoy the surroundings without having to rush. This was perfect and gave me plenty of great opportunities to capture these special moments. Then Julia and Matthew departed for their wedding reception in Hitchin and to meet up with their guests that had traveled ahead.
